I Foresee A Football Game and A Strange Bowl of Oatmeal in the Distance!

I am still alive, don't worry.  Right now I am eating my second breakfast because the first one was cold and now I want something warm in my stomach.  Mmm....
So yesterday I made the observation that both of the football teams today have the almost the same colors!  Only, as my dad puts it, silver is a prettier color than white.  HA!
;)
Patriots fan.  Yes I am.
Anyway, what is warming my stomach right now?
Well, you are going to think it's gross, but really it is pretty good.
So, if you're willing to try something "out of the box..."

Reminds-Me-Of-The-Time-Between-Winter-And-Spring Oatmeal

  • 1 serving of Quick Oats
  • (Raw) Agave
  • Cinnamon
  • Dried Mint Leaves
  • (Regular) Almond Milk
  • Raisins
  1. Cook the Quick Oats by the way of its instructions
  2. Stop cooking!  Put in some almond milk, cinnamon, and mint leaves.  I used maybe half a tsp. of Mint and mix.
  3. Put in more almond milk if desired/needed and put in agave and mix.
  4. Lastly, put in Raisins.
If you do try it, can you tell me what you think of it?
:)

Oh!  There might be another post later too.  Only because I making Red, Blue, and I can't find any Silver food, so White food.
That's going to be exciting.

"She is still in MA," "No, she's sick," NO I'M HOME

"Do we have gym today?" Brandy texted me at 6:30 this morning.
8:40 A.M. Almost two hours later.
"We don't have school today," I answered. "But tomorrow we do."
3:29 P.M. Twenty-nine minutes after school ended.
"Echo," Brandy texted me. "We had school today....is that why you weren't there?"
.....

"Did we have school today?" I asked Cathleen.
"Did we have school today?" I asked Bryant.
"Did we have school today?" I asked Mandy.

Yes was the same answer each time.  After Brandy and Cathleen answered me, I truly thought they were out to scare me, so I asked Mandy, the one I knew I could trust, instead.

"You didn't know?" She said.
"Nope, my mom said we didn't 'cause it's a national holiday." I texted back sheepishly.
"...but you're right we should've had today off. :P not fair."
"hahahaha good ;))) lol did mr. A or Ms. S ask where I was?"
....
Now, the two answers I got for that last question were:
"Everyone assumed you were still in MA." Brandy told me.
":) No everyone assumed you were sick." Mandy told me.

Well guess what????
I wasn't the only one gone, but I don't know why my other friend was out either.

Sigh, might as well have thought I'd died!  Lack of "Protein!"

Anyway, today was really awesome without school...by the way, I have dance tomorrow and Wed.  - Competitive class is starting!  Wahoo!

Today, my dad and I went shooting, but instead, for maybe an hour, we tracked a female deer instead that was around the targets :)) I found it.  It was really cool.  Then, after a while, we shot a target and went home due to my starting-to-feel-like-their-freezing fingertips and toes.
Later, I made the Fried bananas and granola bars from Happy Herbivore.
Will post reviews about those another day.
Anyway, today was good.  Both food wise and non-food wise - today also included Skyrim! :D
Sad to say, I did not get to watch the movie about Chris McCandless.
Tomorrow is another day though...not that I'll have time... 7-9 dance this week.

To think that I could have been snowed into Boston...that would have been awesome!  Trust me, I prayed for that while we were in MA. Sigh, I guess God gave me a snowless day here at home, not in the place I wanted, but it definitely felt like snowy day.  I hope we get snow though soon!

Happy New Year!

Sorry I haven't posted in a week, but it has been the holidays!  Went to MA for family and First Night.
Anyway, I made two new recipes and I am going to try and do maybe two at least tomorrow.  Sadly, I didn't get to do that salad for Christmas :( but what I did make was very good.
Please excuse the poorly taken pictures...
First, I made Peanut Butter Dog Treats for my dog :) He loves them!  I want to take a picture                       of him with one of the people shaped ones in his mouth :)) - the next picture is also them.
Now, I didn't have enough parsley, so I only got to use, I think, half a tsp.
Someone here, tried to open someone else's, gifts!

I tried to make these Raw Gingerbread Men, but I think they didn't work out because there weren't enough dates :(
But when I came home today from MA, I put some uncooked rolled oats, one mashed banana, and maybe 1/4 c of this stuff in and ate it!  It was really great!
Dunkin' Donuts business truck - looked funny
We went to the Taj to sit down... after a "grueling" walk through the "cold"
Later, we went to Mcgreevy's, an Irish Pub across the street from the Hynes Center
                                                My what-really-was-pretty First Night button
One of the few things, or really, only things, we did, was go see the O'Shea Irish Dance Co. dance with a hip-hop or mixed types of dances, from a dance school in Roxbury, MA; they also danced with the Boston Tap Company.
They weren't my favorite.  I could see the difference between their school and my own.  It just felt different.
I won't go on explaining, but two of the three of their Open Champions (a few seniors in my own school are trying to get into the World Championships, by the way) were really good.
One thing about the Mcreevy's place, was that it was one of the first times I didn't see anything on the very limited menu that evening I couldn't order.
Thankfully, being me, I like to plan my meals in advance.  So, that afternoon I had looked up their menu to see what my family could eat: There had been a BLACK BEAN burger :D
That was what I had for dinner.  And it was good.
This past week I have had so many nuts, that it was just crazy!  At the Taj, I ate two out of three appetizer holders that are complimentary to eat, which contain all different nut blends, almost all by myself!
Every time in the past we have gone to the Taj, I have never liked Wasabi nuts, but guess what???
I have a new found love for them.
See what changing your diet can do?
Amazing.
Rewind!
A day or so before First Night, my parents and I took my grandma to Easy Bay Grille.
There, (we had gone also the day before when my parents and I got there to get lunch...) I ordered a salad for dinner.
My salad was there Simple Green Salad and I asked for the vinaigrette on it.
I got a "creamy" vinaigrette instead.
As soon as it appeared in front of me, I thought it was bleu cheese.
I took a few bites, maybe ate one third of the salad, before I really started to see the cheese chunks.
Now, don't think this was really obvious, because the waiter and my parents all said it was the vinaigrette.
Although, my parents became more convinced the more I said I didn't think, or knew, that it wasn't the right dressing.
We sent it back.  Got the right dressing later.
Overall, I forgot to say a belated Merry Christmas!

Waking, I Crash

So tired.  Yesterday, at 5:45 A.M. I woke up because I was to go to Philadelphia.  We left a 6:30 and got there at a little after 9:30 I guess.
I don't really like Philly.  Like Boston history-feeling wise, but trashier.  No offense...
But that doesn't mean I didn't have good food :)
What I ate, I got excited about even though you are probably thinking, "Whatever..."

Bourse Hall
Lunch - A Banana, Garden Deluxe Salad w/ whole wheat roll, Nature Valley Trail Mix granola bar
Dinner was the most exciting meal yesterday!
Dinner - An Apple, Fruit Salad, and, wait for it, out of every food stuffs that was there, I found Vegan Cookies!
I got Chocolate ones; they were shaped like hearts :))

So I broke off a piece of cookie and asked my friend if she wanted to try it.  Now, lets call her Brandy (hehe).  "Brandy" hasn't liked any Vegan food I have given her except for the Vegan Chocolate Chip cookie from Whole Foods. Now, as she asked me with certain uncertainty and caution, I laughed and gushed over how good I truly thought it was.  It tasted exactly like the Kashi Chocolate Chip Oatmeal? Cookies.
Brandy, taking a nibble, handed it back to me with disgust.  All I did was wave her away and tell her to throw it out and what a waste it was to share my wonderful food with her.

Contemptment.  Exausted. And wanting to go to bed, I force my eyelids to stay open.
Drama Queen right?
:) Yeah.

This week I am making two things for Thanksgiving but won't be able to post them until the Friday or Saturday after.  Sorry, going up to Connecticut and won't have access to computer and plus, laziness from hopefully-tasty goodness warming me.

A New Direction

Today, or for the past few days, I have decided that I should focus my writing on two things: Irish Dancing and Vegetarianism/Veganism - trying go Vegan...maybe...as much as possible.  Anyway, right now I am trying to find cheap Vegan recipes - finding many.  I am doing this because my parents gave me the idea that if I could food shop for myself $30 or less, which is really hard for me... I could get any money that they didn't spend in the $30 dollar budget.  For example, if I spent $26.50, I would $3.50 back.  I want to be able to go a little under that budget especially because I think it would be a very cool idea to get a phone that has internet and a camera so I can blog wherever I go.  So, when I go to Boston or wherever, I can tell you all what I am eating that is Vegetarian/Vegan friendly :) with a picture!  Or I can take pictures of whatever feis I am at at the time.  Simple.  So back to the phone, I want to be able to pay the $50 something a month.  But, in a good way, this isn't urgent.

http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/2990
That looks good :)  Maybe I'll try this first.

Did I mention I am cooking again on Saturday the 22nd?  New recipes.  2!  I am making it feel like a pub night even though my parents were slow to catch on... A veggie burger with oven fries.  Yum.  (The veggie burger is from the "Eat, drink, & be vegan" blog I follow.)  Very excited. I specifically chose that night because it is, in fact, a Bruins game.  Good times.

"Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good Sweet Caroline I believed they never could Sweet Caroline"

"Sweet Caroline"

This is now all going back to the New England project.  I was extremely excited about it and I was probably getting very annoying but too bad for my group :).  We are going to sing "Sweet Caroline" and have a clay figure of the Old Man.  Besides that, Veggie wise, meals of the day... yes I did have dinner already... I was hungry -
Breakfast: Oatmeal and Granola Bar
Lunch: Lollipop(s), Apple, and something else... I forget hehe
Dinner: Black Bean burger, sweet potato fries, and some green stuff that seemed to be avocado smashed with some weird spice, but it was all good.  I am also drinking Cosmic Cranberry Kombuha.  Yum.  Also, I am going to try a new shake in the morning tomorrow: Chocolate Vega Shake :)  Hope it goes well.

The Irish of the Day:
Watching my dance recital from last year.  It looks really amazing, and I remember what to do too :) Good day.
I also can do boxes now too!  (Irish Dance thing)

Now a Random Thought:
I like Adele, my dad likes Adele, but now, we both LIKED Adele.  My mom runs to her every morning now since we got rid of hearing her Celine Dion for a few months almost everyday, but we found her annoying after MONTHS too... Adele has only be a week, and already her songs pop into my head at very random times in the day!  I listened to one song, "Savior," all morning and on the way to school, hoping that it would be stuck in my head all day, but no, Adele HAD to get stuck in my head at one point...  Thankfully, "Sweet Caroline" was a good replacement to Adele's album of 21 which helped me to NOT go crazy or jump off a cliff.  Later, I told my mom I wanted to go shoot myself in the foot.  Sigh.  Thankfully, she wants Within Temptation to start being in her "mix" of every few months... Sadly though, it isn't burning to any blank disks.  Crap.  Wish me and my dad luck.

(Cystic Fibrosis... I think - some kid in my school had surgery today so we all had something purple)

"So lying underneath those stormy skies She'd say, 'oh ohohohoh I know the sun must set to rise' This could be para-para-paradise"

Today was a good day.  Good meals - oatmeal with banana, apple, pretzels, INSTANT noodles, lollipops, cookies, Medjool dates, and grapes plus stuff...  :)) Going back to dance OFFICIALLY tonight, though only for an hour, then tomorrow, two hours of dance :))  After dance, I am going to youth group.  Very exciting, I know.
Well, today was good besides food -
Listened to Paradise by Coldplay x5 + times (like right now :)
Had good classes - music I wasn't doing very great... My friend had her phone... I was sadly distracted by making fun of her hehe.
I got a compliment on my writing which was really cool
I am part of a NEW ENGLAND group in my History class
And finally, I am going to dance again.

BTW to all Bruins fans - or New England people :)

he's always watching.

Anyway, my official diet I think, is a Lacto-ovo Vegetarian because of certain things like muffins and cookies... Shame on me... Plus, cheese and bread... Addictive.

Anyway, did I mention I am moving?  Haha one town over though, in five? four? years New Hampshire.  Very exciting too.

"When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach so
She ran away in her sleep
And dreamed of
Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes

Got to go, dance.

                                                               I went here :D - Day 6

I am finally back :)) Sorry, these pictures are completely out of order, so I will number them :).
Berklee is a busy campus, even in the summer, but it was sooooooooooo cool!  Well, first of all, I came back yesterday... But, when we left, we came the day before the rehearsal dinner.  We ate at the Rosebrook Bar at the hotel for dinner, but for lunch we went to Fabyan's At The Station down the street.  The next day, it was the rehearsal dinner and manis and pedis for the bride and her bridesmaids, as well as my mom's and our grandma's.  My nails are called "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (Sparkly Light Pink) and my toes are "I Feel The Earth Move (a Dark Burgendy)."  While we had our nails down, I was "punished" by having me dry my nails in a corner cut out by a wall from the room :)  'Cause I ruined the nail a little.  Hehe.  Then, when it was dry, I ate all the fruit off of two of the three cheese/bread/fruit platters my cousin got for us for lunch... Later, at the rehearsal dinner, my cousin had  BBQ type dinner.  One of the options at the dinner, was a veggie burger the hotel made :)  It was SO good!  I also had potato salad for the first time which was amazing, coleslaw, 2 pieces of corn bread, a chocolate chip cookie, a bite of cake, a brownie with ganache, and a oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.  Yum.  The rehearsal and everything was amazing!  The next day was prep and the wedding.  My first wedding.  We had our hair done, my cousin had all curls and it was really pretty, and everyone seemed to have curls in their hair too.  Haha, in the bridal party at least.  After the wedding and photos, which were SO fun!  we almost danced into the dinner :).  The dinner for me, was two rolls, Summer Squash Bisque Soup, a few bites of Caesar Salad, Mushroom Manicotti, and a handful of chocolate chips from the ice cream bar :)  Yes, my cousin had an ice cream bar besides cake.  Everyone danced, well me, I tried... After the wedding which went from 4 - 11 PM, everyone left.  The next day, everyone left except my parents and I.  We stayed for one more day and then went to Salem.  I do not like Salem at all.  Sorry.  We saw a witch trial which was kind of boring.  After, that day, we went to Boston and went on a duck tour, a boat ride, another boat ride, and a concert at the Wilbur Theatre to see Gaelic Storm.  I got 4 out of the 5 autographs, only because the 4th didn't come out while I was there.  It was really cool.  Too bad it ended...  So, tonight I recreated a sandwich I had at Mt. Washington, and I did really well.  It tasted exactly like the ones they made!   It was sauteed Purple Eggplant on a croissant with hummus and Raspberry Vinaigrette.  Only, it had one piece of eggplant, one piece of summer squash, and one piece of zucchini.  Very good.  I also made a Spicy Eggplant Dip.  Yummy too.  Now I am watching "Tangled" hehe.  That's good too.  No bad experiences this week, only, on Friday, I saw a tiny bird that was dead beside a train track... It had gotten hit.  Also, the girl who's mom had cancer, died on Thursday night...  Sorry.  Good Night.
A good song to wrap up the wedding :)
Great Song Too
My other theme song I think, is Green Eyes, Red Hair by Gaelic Storm too :) but I can't find it on YouTube.com.

"I took some time out for life."

:) I am now finally writing again!  But not for long.  Vacation and a wedding are coming up!  10 days!  Sighs, for the past nine days I have been kicking myself to get on here and type again, but I have been either too lazy or busy doing something else that I haven't been able to get here.  Anyway, I have multiple new recipes that my family and I have had in the past few days.  First of all, Black Bean Hummus, which is excellent!  I just put the two tablespoons of the hummus on a medium whole-wheat wrap... It was amazing!  I also came up with my own recipe :)  I entered it in a WholeFoods contest but I didn't win :(  But that doesn't mean my recipe wasn't great!  'Cause it was!
A Dancer's Raw Energy Boost
1 cup of unsalted almonds
1 cup of (Vegan; Dark) Chocolate Chips
1/3 cup of raisins
1/2 cup of craisins
1 teaspoon of salt (+ maybe a little more - pinch?)
.......
Mix together in a bowl and done :)
And if you want a serving amount, I have been having 1/4 cup.
........
Next, my dad made three baguettes.  The first time he tried, the yeast didn't "activate," so he started again a few days ago, and today, we had three amazing breads.  Well, we had one :).  I will try and post the recipe tomorrow, because I am too comfy to get up right now, sorry.
The next recipe, is Stuffed Vegetarian Peppers.
So, over the next few days, last chance for me to type is Wed., I will try to keep writing and keep you posted.  And just a few songs that remind me of where I am going:
My New Hampshire ( I get the best memories listening to these songs - and whenever I am listening to a song up to these places, that song will remind me of the place, hence, these songs:)

A Dream That Ended Too Quickly

                                                      The Dream
                                                                    The Dock
                                                                Her Flowers
Well, I am guilty... I have been home since Sunday afternoon, but I have not been able to get to this sadly. :( Anyway, I am here now, and I will now tell you how my 4th of July weekend went!  BTW HAPPY BELATED 4TH  JULY!  :) Over the weekend, my parents and I visited my grandma in MA, but before that, my grandparents had to drive me up to meet my parents who were coming down to meet us in the parking lot of The Chowderpot.  Afterwards, my parents and I went back up to MA and went to have lunch at The Cabby Shack.  I LOVE THAT PLACE hehe.  There, I tried my mom's tuna salad sandwich...I liked it a lot :).  But, there, I had a salad that was okay; I just wasn't in the mood :(.  Anyway, after that, we drove that last few minutes to my grandma's and talked to her till five.  At five, we went to dinner at the Milepost, and there, I had my very first Tuna salad sandwich!  I took a pic of it, but didn't post it.  I absolutely loved it; and I also had tea (Tazo Spiced Orange Decaf) which was too hot and burned my finger and tongue.  While we were at my grandma's, we talked with her pretty much the whole time but we did go out for lunch the next day.  we went to The Lobster Shack where I had for the first time Fish & Chips (w/o the chips though :) I had coleslaw) which I loved too!  Hehe.  Then, later, in the afternoon, we went to a tourist area in Duxbury where we went through a bunch of shops.  There was a cute one called Eco Chic I think...While my parents and I were looking around, my grandma sat on the bench happily and made friends with those around her.  My dad went to go check on her (she's his mommy hehe) and she introduced him to a new friend she made!  After shopping and buying nothing, we went to dinner at the East Bay Grille where I got a five shrimp cocktail (with a seaweed salad in the middle of it) with Broccolini!  Broccolini is the most amazing, tastiest, veggie I have ever eaten!  BTW the first picture, is suppose to represent the Dream :).  That torch was at the East Bay Grille where we ate outside.  The second, was a dock my dad and I went to later that night - where I took a lot of pictures!  And the last, was of one of the patches of lilies in my grandma's yard.  We were here for only two nights and three days... There were a few times I wanted to cry because I really don't like where I live - I only like a few things (like friends and people I like).  But, I don't want to leave anyway for another few years :) : College.  So, I have to make a separate post :).  SO, next one.

"So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed...So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise? Will all our sins be justified?...His soul was tortured by love and by pain...Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind?"

Last night, the Stanley Cup, the Boston Bruins won.  The game was played in Vancouver, Canada, and by the time the game was over, the Canucks' fans broke out into frustration.  They couldn't be held back, their anger and rage flowed out like a water breaking through a dam.  The police couldn't do anything, all that was left to do was wait for the frenzy to disperse and go home.  This happened till midnight or so, and finally the city was left with smoke drifting into the air, glass littered sidewalks, streets blocked off because of damage, gas-bomb-type of tools were thrown at the police, and many people were in the hospital because of severe injuries.  No one had a safe way to get home.  This, this event, showed loyalty, obsession, and anger.  Why were they SO angry?  Well, maybe I shouldn't be talking, but still.  Why would they risk their lives just to show how frustrated they were with their team?  Maybe I will never get an answer.  But all I know is, is that last night was a night of celebration for some, and it should have been a night of silent mourning.  I hope I don't sound like a jerk, but I am sad people take sports like this to that extreme.

"I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in the enemy's eyes...One minute I held the key...I heard Jerusalem bells a ringing Roman Calvary choirs are singing...But that was when I ruled the world."

THEY WON! OH MY GOSH THEY WON! FIRST TIME IN THE PAST 39 YEARS!  THEY HAVE WON 6 CUPS!  I am sorry Canada.  Good game.  BTW they played my favorite song: VIVA LA VIDA.  Never heard it?  Look it up now.  Your life depends on it.  Lol.  Oh my goodness, Canada is booing Tim Thomas :'(! Anyway, good game, look forward to next season.  Good game, good season, good teams, each with the same will to win.  Each with the same love, passion, and life.  WAHOOOOOOOOOOO Can't wait for the Victory Parade!

"I know they have confidence. They should have confidence. They are the" 'NHL' "champions...'No matter what you say during the week - and God knows we say a lot this week - we're going to be focused on going out and winning this game. We're confident, but I don't think we share our thoughts with everybody."

Tonight.  June 15, 2011 8:30 PM-11:00+ PM is the Final Stanley Cup in Roger's Arena Vancouver, Canada.  The teams: Boston Bruins and the Vancouver Canucks.  I am sitting on the edge of my seat, and have been ALL day.  The score as of right now is 1-0.  Yay!  Boston Bruins are winning (No offense to any Canadian fans).  I have been, and still am, stressed our all day long.  I almost wanted to puke when I was talking to my friend about tonight's game.  I mean, this game is in Vancouver!  The Bruins and Cancucks keep having close games here, and every time they play in Boston, the Bruins win, and now they are back in Vancouver for the final game.     The Canucks and Bruins are tied.  Tonight, whoever wins, gets the Cup.  Now, recap, hockey has only just become a huge part of my life.  Well, maybe not huge, but I have become a HUGE fan and I am trying to understand all the rules, places, and such.  I have been doing well to catch on, I can tell when a power play is.  Anyway, my dad just said, and I quote, "I'm gonna puke."  Already my father has jumped up and rejoiced with a resounding shout through the house, and here I sit quietly keeping my thoughts to myself  (He thinks I'm not stressed out).  Oh my goodness, it's a commercial.  Eck.  Stupid, boring, distracting, things that waste two minutes of my life.  Hehe.  Sigh.  The game is back, my fingers are shaking, and my dad is going to hyperventilate soon.  Hopefully they win, because then, we will be going to Boston tomorrow night for the parade...SCORE!.... Goodnight...I hope.

"One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter."

For the past few days, as you know from my New England-longing post, I have been craving New England, but I have also been enjoying Irish dance these past few days too, and together these longings have both placed pain and happiness in my chest, I can almost physically feel it!  The pain comes from New England, and the happiness that I get from Irish dance is so overwhelming it hurts, but either way, I can feel something that I can barely contain, and only tears and actions will satisfy.
Every time I do Irish dance, or hear Irish music, I get an adrenaline rush and I become very talkative when I walk out of the building or studio.  I can come from the crappiest day I have ever had, or I can come from being very sad, to becoming ecstatic after dancing and hearing the music in the room.  But since my Saturday dance recital, and from getting the feedback and results from the digital feis, I have been very happy.  The happiness I feel when I walk out of the studio has lasted with me for four days now; I just want to keep dancing.  And just today, one of my friends said her mom wanted her to do ballet next year, but shockingly, she kind of wants to do Irish dance.  So now of course this made me VERY happy (once again), and I have sent her different camps she can do with me in the Summer, and now I wait for her answer.  But anyway, this happiness is overwhelming and wonderful.  I don't want it to go away.
Aside from that, the pain has come from the craving New England.  My want for Boston especially has grown, since for the past two days at school our Summer reading project, all the choices on it are about books taking place in New England, and when my teacher was talking to us about them, I almost cried!  And at that time, the pain in my chest was the only feeling there, the little light of happiness was as dim as a dying light bulb.  But I held them in.  So sadly, all these feelings I can barely contain, and I don't have to hold them in, but the feelings just so large, that I might run someone down from the excitement and anxiety!  Arghhh.  Some things in our hearts are just like the water behind a dam just waiting to break the hold down.

"It was a thousand to one and a million to two Time to go down in flames and I'm taking you Closer to the edge...Can you imagine a time when the truth ran free...Paid for with pride and fate...One day maybe we'll meet again."

Back in 1692-1693, the witch trials began in Salem, MA.  150 people were accused of witchcraft, they started because some girls didn't like some people in their town, and nobody would listen to them, so finally they hurt themselves and cried out saying that the people they didn't like did this to them.  Now in one of my classes, we are doing a mock witch trial after a book we just read; everyone got a part in the trial.  You have the judge, the jury, the prosecutors, the defenders, the victims, and the witch/conjurer them self.  I am one of the afflicted girls/victims of this trial.  I have been beaten and given and forced to do things by a man named George Burroughs.  This is a real story.  In the trial, I am the victim Mercy Lewis.  George Burroughs carried me up a mountain and offered me the whole world if I wrote in his book.  And at the trial, he was proven guilty because of the cuts I and the other victims had put on ourselves but claimed he did them.  George was later hanged in the gallows on Gallows Hill, Salem.  But while he was there, he recited the Lord's Prayer which was thought to be impossible for a witch or wizard to do, though it still changed nothing but did give everyone a shock.  For some reason, I am very excited to act out this trial, and I feel I could get into this very well, and I hope I do well too :).  Right when my dad got home I asked him if we could go see a mock witch trial in Salem, and he said sure. :D I am very excited and I truly hope we do.  I have never been to Salem, so this would be my first time.  My summer just keeps getting better. :)) In the end, no one really did practice witchcraft during this time, so all the accusations and trials were just about superstition and dislike for people in their town, but the Puritans back then were very strict and kept to the Bible.  Taking things in the Bible very literally, and lived by what they perceived from it.  The Puritans came to New England for religious freedom, but when other religious groups came, the Puritans didn't like the other groups very well, and so shunned them in a way.  Made them outcasts.  There really was no freedom, truth was forced, many people had pride, but no one really had a say less they were a Puritan.  Overall, things have changed quite a lot, thank goodness!

Heartbreak of the Day

I left my heart in a different place, and sadly my mind and body are here.  Today I have been aching inside for a place I feel I can say I grew up in for half my life: New England. Sighs, this morning before church I heard church bells ringing from across the street, it made me want to throw-up I was so sad I wasn't in Massachusetts and going to church with my family there. Then just a few days ago, I had my mom buy daisies to plant...I chose those because those flowers grow wild next to her driveway. I have been craving Boston, Connecticut, Portsmith, and all of New England these past few weeks.  But usually I don't crave Connecticut, but I have these past few days because of a book I was reading in school.  It takes place in Wethersfield, Connecticut; not that I have ever been there, but just two weeks ago my mother, grandmother, and I had to go to Rhode Island for a surprise bridal shower, and we went through Saybrook which is a place in the book too.  Aside from the book, I love New England because of the seasons, the food, the diversity, the atmosphere, and the geography, but I love the people there the most.
Not only are these people welcoming, but everyone knows each other!  Talk about a small world!  Just a few months ago, I was in a Vermont food store, and at the register two men were asking the girl behind the counter how her mother was doing.  I envied them so much watching them, I wish my town, even my state, was as close as that, but we are too urban and city-like.  My family there is amazing, and so is my family here and other places, but I am heartbroken I don't live there.  I would ask my family if we could move there, and there would be a great chance they'd say yes because they love it there too, but I have too many good friends here, and I couldn't stand to leave them.  I could go on for a long time talking about the places up there, but I won't 'cause I'm going to bed.  Sleepy, and school is tomorrow, gross, at least I can look forward to a piano lesson and friends.
